Two accounts of the beginning
The archived 2009 history places the Guard’s beginning in mid-January 2002. The Aldacron gives February 12, 2002 as its founding date. Both describe a forum-based guild gathering before Shadowbane’s release. These accounts are preserved side by side; the surviving material does not resolve the difference.

From a forum to a brotherhood
The guild’s own 2009 retrospective places its beginning in mid-January 2002, before Shadowbane’s release.
- A forum-based guild takes shape around the promise of Shadowbane.
- The Guard enters the released game and establishes Aldalonde on the Mourning server.
- The community reorganizes as a multi-game guild.
- The retrospective describes Mourning’s Shadowbane chapter as the flagship during this period.
Names in the founding account
The founding council is listed as Voronwe Eldalom, Featar En’Nole, Daevlin Velkrieg, Kirgurth Daerauko, and Avathar Maeglin, with Haliit Ferase identified as a founding member. The same account credits Tasital Goldeneyes with leadership during Aldalonde’s later Shadowbane life.
These are historical names and roles, not a present-day leadership directory.
The first home on the web
The March 2002 homepage preserves a February announcement that the Guard had moved to thesunderedguard.com. Its news welcomed new kindred, recorded promotions, and directed visitors toward the guild’s gathering places.
The original green-and-black crest and crossed swords were already part of that home. The recovered design can still be explored in the homepage archive section.
Where the kindred gathered
The early forum guide made a deliberate distinction between character life and the people behind it.
- The Clearing
- In-character conversation.
- The Shattered Sky
- Out-of-character discussion.
- The Owl’s Perch
- Questions and answers.
- The Whispering Dell
- Introductions and petitions to join.
- The Woodland Tavern
- A place for visitors.
These descriptions explain the historical Glades. They do not imply that the old forum services are currently available.
The later archive is a snapshot
The September 2010 lore index grouped the guild’s identity, Proper, chapters, code, and bylaws alongside chapter-specific material.
It listed EVE Online separately and labeled Darkfall, World of Warcraft, Age of Conan, Vanguard, Dark and Light, Dark Age of Camelot, and Shadowbane as retired chapters. Those labels describe that archived page, not their status today.
A note on unreliable links
Some chapter labels in the old index point to another chapter’s article. A page’s own content takes precedence here; a mislabeled link has not been treated as proof of a separate history.
The people who carried it forward
2000 · Before the Sundered Guard
The Aldacron traces some founding friendships to The Auberean Guard on Asheron’s Call’s Solclaim server, led by Tobias Aurorasun, also known as Voronwe Eldalom.
Late 2003 · Beyond the first world
Chapters and Proper made room for members to follow different games while remaining part of the same Guard. The Aldacron’s “Why Chapters” dates this multi-game incarnation to October 2003.
August 2006 · Keeping the record
The Aldacron records the formation of the Loretenders, dedicated to preserving the guild’s history, lore and achievements. Remembering became work members undertook for those who would follow.
Feral · Words carried between worlds
The Aldacron credits Kaguran Bloodwild, Leviathan Bloodwild and Nyren Mistrunner with creating Feral. Haliit Ferase, Laatho and Petrus Aduro later helped revive and develop it. Its in-game identities changed with its speakers: Mahirim in Darkfall, Vulmane in Vanguard, and a Matari tribe in EVE.
